On Saturday, 2nd November, German Airways Invited us to take a look at their Embraer 190 with their brand new livery. The AOC´s WDL and LGW will both operate under the name “German Airways” from now. German Airways will continue as a Wet-lease and Charter Airline meaning, that their aircrafts can be chartered by Airlines or Companies and German Airways doesn’t sell any tickets.
From 1st May 2020 one of the Embraer E-190 will operate flights for Fly Bair which is an Airline owned by the airport of Bern, it will be mainly serving holiday destinations. The intention of Fly Bair is to attract more passengers to the airport of Bern, otherwise as announced at a press conference their is the possibility of the airport going bankrupt, the airport has started a crowdfounding campaign to make the launch of their new Airline possible.
Besides Lufthansa, WDL is the oldest operating Airline in Germany, it was founded in 1955. The change to the new name should lead to a better recognition of the Airline and the name reflects the the german roots of WDL and LGW in combination with a good “made in Germany” image.
The following Diashow includes pictures of their Aircrafts and of its cabins:

5 Nov 2019Hey Luwu thanks for the reply, but I tried to say the same as you did 😉 I like a lot of white on am airplane and then a colour with a lot of contrast : eg. the new Lufthansa livery or the German airways livery 🙂

4 Nov 2019Hey thanks for the insight into this airline :). I also love this airplane and the new livery because it (the livery) is a bit minimalistic (a lot of white) and then the bright colours of the German flag make a beautiful picture. Please continue posting such interesting facts/posts/tips on your blog 😉

4 Nov 2019Hey Tim, thanks a lot!
The white livery makes it possible to Airlines to put their own Logo/Stickers on it, like on the Eurowings Dash-8´s
Best regards
